As Wind Farm Optimization Manager (m/f/d) your target is to simulate the site-specific benefit of our upgrade portfolio, while verifying the structural integrity (mechanical loads) of the installed wind turbines. To do so, you will work in a global and cross-functional team and be the interface between customers, the various Service regions and headquarter functions such as Engineering Load Department and have a direct impact on our business success.
YOUR TASKS
- Re-assessing existing/planned wind farms with an internal tool chain confirming the compatibility of certain upgrades and the turbine specific structural integrity
- This task includes assessment of site-specific wind conditions, application of mechanical load mitigation strategies, running bucket approaches, assessing the possibility for lifetime extension, approval processes and writing reports
- Support the upgrades sales by creating benefit calculations, driving validation campaigns and initiate the implementation of upgrades
- Work together with our global service regions and our after sales colleagues to convince customers and their stakeholders such as grid operators or authorities and enable a successful product sale
- Have a measurable impact on the business performance of the global Service business unit
- Build up a large network within the company and the industry to be up to date on new technological developments
- Represent the team in strategic discussions and development decision meetings
YOUR PROFIL
- Completed university studies in the field of Engineering (M.Sc. or equivalent) or a Business/Economics degree with a strong technical background
- 4 to 8 years of experience in wind & site assessments, mechanical loads department or equal technical service organisations in the wind energy industry
- Able to build strong relationships and clearly communicate within a global organisation
- Highly analytical with a holistic approach and strong problem solving skills
- Self-driven, focused and pragmatic with demonstrated ability to bring topics to success in a complex environment
- Optionally Know-how in wind turbine technology (site assessment, wind turbine control, load calculation, aerodynamics, etc.)
- Optionally WindPRO and Python experience
- Fluent in English, while Spanish and/or German would be an advantage
