Stellenausschreibung
The Institute for Process Engineering at Technische Universität Hamburg is shaping the future of sustainable chemical and biochemical production. By combining innovative model-based design with experimental research, the team drives process intensification for energy-efficient, reactive, and hybrid systems – in close collaboration with academic and industrial partners.
Your mission: You will identify enzyme kinetic models from limited experimental data by adapting and extending parameter-estimation methods originally developed for adsorption modelling. The resulting approach will be systematically validated for complex, multi-parameter reaction models, with a particular focus on competing substrates.
Your Tasks
- Conduct experimental work, including measurements of enzyme kinetics
- Develop and refine kinetic models for complex reaction systems
- Author scientific publications and prepare conference presentations
- Supervise student theses and contribute to academic knowledge transfer
Your Profile
- Completed master's degree (above-average grade or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Process Engineering, or a comparable field
- Strong understanding of complex enzyme kinetics
- Expertise in modelling and numerical methods
- Passion for scientific research, self-motivation, and a results-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, combined with the ability to work independently and take ownership
What We Offer
- Opportunity to pursue a PhD alongside your duties
- Collaboration within an interdisciplinary, highly motivated and dedicated team
- Participation in national and international conferences with interdisciplinary collaborations
- Contribution to the further development of cutting-edge research topics
