As in-house patent counsel, you are responsible for all matters relating to technical intellectual property rights (patents, utility models, trade secrets) at Beiersdorf AG and its subsidiaries worldwide.
Your role
- Independent and autonomous work in a manageable team of patent attorneys
- Business partner in all Intellectual Property (IP) relating matters and working in close cooperation with R&D
- Develop and pursue the patent strategy and generate an added value to the company by steering all patent activities
- Managing examination-, grant-, opposition- and appeal proceedings before the IP patent offices worldwide
- Cooperation and advise with external lawyers, especially in the USA and China
- Enforce our own patents using legal actions
- Evaluating and monitoring third party rights, defending against them and preparing expert opinions
- Participation in the legal M&A-, contracts-, license- and development agreements
- Taking care of employee invention matters
- University degree in chemistry, pharmacy or biochemistry or similar area (PhD necessary)
- Strong interest in intellectual property rights (first professional experiences in patents are beneficial)
- Profound understanding of all technical questions related to R&D and product development
- Exact linguistic analysis and expressiveness in writing and verbally
- Willingness for Training as a patent assessor (m/f/x), European Patent Attorney and/or US patent agent
- Ability to present complex technical and legal issues in an understandable and convincing manner
- Working alone as well as in a team
- Communicative and proactive
Fluent in German and Business English
