   The Oncology Data Science (ODS) organization has recently been established to centralize data, engineering, analytics, and AI expertise to drive the early and late Oncology drug development portfolio with data science-driven insights. As such, there is a heightened emphasis on this central ODS organization maintaining collaborations across Oncology teams, developing strategic alliances and collaborations with academic and technology industry leaders, and maintaining rich partnerships across ODS and supporting units like the Data Office and IT in the development of foundational platforms and innovative data science approaches.
   ODS Data Analytics and AI Platforms (ODSP) team is a pivotal department within ODS, comprised of multiple groups across Cambridge UK, Boston MA, Gaithersburg MD, and Munich DE sites, that develop technology, software and data infrastructure to advance Oncology Data Science. The Operations Project Manager will play a lead role operationalizing the ODSP team reporting jointly to the Executive Director, Head of ODSP and the Senior Director, Strategic Collaborations. The Operations Project Manager will be responsible for ODSP department operations, budget management, resource management, and vendor management as well as engaged in strategic projects that support the Oncology Data Science organization.
   Major Duties and Qualifications:
  -  Act as the Head of ODSP’s operational lead supporting department-wide business operations; coordinate the Extended Leadership Team, manage departmental communications and ad hoc department management projects/initiatives 
-  Oversee multiple department wide projects under the direction of Senior Director of Strategic Collaborations 
-  Accountable for managing department budgets for ODSP; closely follow AstraZeneca wide budget cycles, manage day to day budget operations and report out department’s budget updates 
-  Lead procurement process for ODSP; liaise with procurement and internal team members in the setup of contracts, statements of work, and management of purchase orders for external collaborations including software vendors, outsourced service providers, and licenses 
-  Lead recruitment oversight for ODSP; provide oversight of recruiting and site management plan and status 
-  Lead records management plan for ODSP; maintain current management systems and develop and improve management systems based on evolving needs of department. Systems include but may not be limited to MS SharePoint/Teams, Smartsheet, Airtable, Box, JIRA, etc. 
-  Identify and record departmental processes and support information sharing and onboarding activities 
-  Proactively see opportunities for change and drive optimization of internal processes and communications for department 
-  Partner with ODS operational leads collectively driving opportunistic centralization/sharing of activities and continuous improvement 
 Minimum Qualifications:
  -  Demonstrated 3+ years’ experience in business operations with financial management within a pharmaceuticals or clinical environment 
-  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university 
-  Demonstrated experience in financial management 
-  Demonstrated experience with vendor management and procuring third party suppliers 
-  Experience in records management 
-  Experience in project management methodologies 
-  Proven ability to tackle the unknown and create an actionable plan 
-  Experience in implementing policies, procedures and guidelines 
-  Highly collaborative with experience influencing and communicating cross-functionally with stakeholders 
 Desirable Qualifications: 
  - Advanced degree in business, data science or genomics 
-  Experience working in a global organization with complex/geographical context 
-  Understanding of R&D, data science and AI, informatics, records management, and system development in the biotech/pharma industry
