RWE Renewables Onshore & PV Europe & Australia (OPEA) seeks Business Transformation Managers to drive our transformation programme forwards. We have a clear goal. To become ‘The Green Engine´ for renewable energy across Europe & Australia by significantly growing our current electricity generation capacity. To do this we need to change the way we work, simplifying and industrialising our processes, improve our systems, change mind-sets, find ways to empower people and accelerate decision making. We have an extremely ambitious goal and so we need experienced, professional, and driven Business Transformation Managers to lead the transformation of our business in this exciting, growth industry.

Role Summary & Objectives

• Responsible for the delivery of the Business Transformation, turning OPEA into the ‘Green Engine’ for renewables in Europe & Australia
• Work in collaboration with a broad range of senior stakeholders to change ‘the way we work’ and to embed the ‘OPEA DNA’ by improving capabilities, processes, digitalizing the business, changing our culture, and promoting the desired mind-set

Your tasks

• Train, coach, challenge, and support stakeholders at all levels of the organization to develop competence in Continuous improvement/Operational Excellence/Lean Management capabilities
• Build buy-in of stakeholders by building effective relationships, identifying, and actively removing barriers to change across the organisation
• Support the translation of strategic objectives into concrete objectives/KPIs per function, building a robust performance management system
• Drive teams to identify key issues, leading improvement projects/initiatives by providing expert problem-solving support
• Support the implementation of change, track progress and measure the impact on the performance of the business
• Foster the adoption of the “OPEA Green Engine” and of a more entrepreneurial/ empowered way of working, through targeted cultural measures
• Promote a continuous improvement mindset, focusing teams on the overall aims of the transformation
• Share best practices with and support other Business Transformation Managers to achieve defined programme goals
• Manage risks and issues to ensure appropriate mitigation, resolution or escalation as required
• Work in collaboration with internal communications to create excitement and momentum around the transformation by sharing programme progress and ‘wins’ in an effective and timely manner

Your profile

• 10+ years’ experience of and a solid background in the implementation and promotion of change using continuous improvement/operational excellence/lean management methodologies
• University degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent
• Strong critical thinking skills with demonstrable evidence of delivering change through training, coaching, and supporting others
• Ability to self-organise and work in a highly autonomous way
• Excellent written communication skills, with an ability to build and present high quality meeting materials, reports, and presentations
• Strong verbal communication skills with proven skills in managing stakeholders at every level of the organisation
• Self-reflective personality, able to learn and act on feedback
• Business fluent in the German and English language
• Motivated to travel frequently domestically & internationally

Advantageous, but not a must

• Project management (including Agile) qualifications and membership of an applicable association
• Experience within the Renewable Energy industry
Languages: Professional working proficiency in German and English is a must
