Project description
Worldwide shortage of electronics components is causing a major disruption in the supply chains. In such conditions, agile hardware development is crucial to get products onto the market in-time. The R&D team at SSP is looking for a motivated individual to work alongside our engineers to redesign our handheld machine manipulator.
You would be a part of an experienced research team that develops market competitive and cost-effective safety solutions.
Key learning outcomes
- As a member of our R&D team working on this project you would be trained in Altium designer, an indus-try leading PCB design software.
- You would be trained in agile hardware development techniques developed by our engineers
- You would be trained in component selection and evaluation keeping in view the manufacturing cost per unit
- Hardware design and debugging techniques
Qualifications
- Technical background in electrical, electronic or mechatronics engineering
- Experience in reading and understanding circuit schematics
- Experience with basic PCB design
- Experience in handling test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer etc.
- Experience in soldering and handling SMD electronics is an advantage
- Experience in developing microcontroller firmware is an advantage
- Good spoken and written English skills
Project responsibilities
- Developing a thorough understanding of the existing product schematics
- Component selection driven by cost and availability forecasts
- Developing modular schematics and boards for testing according to the SSP conventions
- Prototyping, assembling, and testing the modular PCBs
- Product level testing
- Documenting all activities related to the project according to SSP conventions
