Tesla is searching for an ambitious (Senior) Drive Unit Test Engineer to join the engineering department in Berlin. In this pivotal role, you will focus on validating the safety, performance, and lifetime of stators, inverters, and drive units. You will contribute significantly to product validation while working alongside industry experts in a high-visibility environment. Responsibilities and Tasks
- Design and execute comprehensive validation programs for drive units and subcomponents.
- Manage reliability testing, ensuring high equipment uptime and rigorous maintenance.
- Lead thermal, electrical, and mechanical test setups to guarantee product excellence.
- Analyze complex data sets to identify root causes of failures and provide risk assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on DFMEAs and validation plans.
- Develop and troubleshoot advanced mechanical and electrical test infrastructure.
- Document technical findings and present them to key stakeholders for product improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent high-level experience.
- Profound understanding of engineering fundamentals and complex system architectures.
- Proven expertise in High-Voltage systems and CAN communication protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation for processing large data volumes.
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation tools such as oscilloscopes and power supplies.
- Strong project management skills and a collaborative, ownership-driven mindset.
Preferred Skills
- Deep knowledge of motor and inverter functionality.
- Practical experience in automotive systems testing and DVP creation.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software and data logging systems.
- A valid Class B driving license is beneficial.
