In an international environment, and as part of our central Export Control team, the Export Control Classification Expert (d/f/m) is responsible for the export control classification of items, software, and technology (goods) in order to identify goods that are subject to license requirements or export control based prohibitions. Hereby, Vitesco shall be enabled to comply with applicable export control and embargo regulations to the extent possible.

The Export Control Classification Expert (d/f/m) reports directly to the Head of Export Control and supports them in the constant enhancement of the Internal Compliance Program (ICP) of the Vitesco Technologies group.

Job Description:

• Conducting export control classification for goods pursuant to applicable export lists (e. g. German Export List, Annex I and IV of Regulation (EU) 2021/821, Commerce Control List)
• Validating classification information provided by business partners
• Assessing the need for re-classification based on amendments of the relevant export lists or in case of changes to the technical characteristics of Vitesco Technologies´ goods
• Reviewing export lists related to embargo regulations to identify restricted goods
• Ensuring Export Control data within the ERP system is updated and reliable as well as adequate recordkeeping of classification-relevant information
• Liaise with other stakeholders to obtain technical information as a basis for the classification

Job Requirements:

• University degree in a technical field
• Several years of demonstrated classification experience in the area of export controls
• Experience in HS classification desirable
• Technical affinity
• Structured and methodological approach
• Fluent English language skills written and spoken; German will be appreciated
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Capability dealing with complex and conflicting situations
• Team player
