You are the central contact person for the business units and regions of Siemens Healthineers in the area of goods-specific labeling of products and services according to international export control and customs law. As a Classification Expert, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance and excellence in international trade and export control.
Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- You will perform analyses of commodities, including hardware, software, and technology, evaluating technical (e.g., physical, chemical, mechanical) and commercial characteristics (e.g., price, origin, calculation). You will identify commodity-specific export data to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as AWR, EU regulation, Customs Code, US (re-) export control regulations, etc.
- You will maintain current export control data (AL/ECCN) and commodity codes (HS code) in master data and transactional in data systems and ensure adjustments to export data as national and international laws change
- You will assume responsibility for determining and assigning foreign trade data for goods within Russian and Belarusian commodity shipments as part of the multi-step marking process, taking into account various commodity list attachments
- You will act as escalation manager to ensure timely and thorough processing of clarification requests from the import/export area
- You participate in cross-departmental and cross-country projects
- You will act as a point of contact (after internal consultation) for external authority audits, including foreign trade and import trade audits, as well as internal reviews. This includes clarifying and answering all relevant questions in your area of responsibility
- You will assist in responding to regulatory inquiries and implementing corrective actions resulting from external reviews, internal reviews, and audits

Your qualifications and experience:
- You have a completed technical master's/diploma degree and ideally have initial professional experience in the area of goods classification in connection with export control and customs law/customs regulations
- We also welcome applicants with a bachelor's degree or completed vocational training and further education (e.g. technician) in combination with additional professional experience in the above-mentioned field
- You have already been involved in international projects or other forms of international cooperation
- You have initial experience/knowledge in the classification of goods according to DE, EU and US (re-) export control law, and the determination of US shares according to de minimis calculation rules, ideally with a background as a classifier
- You have general knowledge of foreign trade law, especially EU/US (re-)export law and embargo regulations against Russia and Belarus as well as customs regulations
Your attributes and skills:
- You have a good command of the English language, which is essential for working in our international environment. Ideally, you have a very good knowledge of German (team language) or are willing to learn the language
- You act in the interest of our internal customers and always have the service concept in mind
