Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) for a Part 145 Repair Station (in coordination with the ESCAR) and a Part-CAMO for NCC-Operation.
- Develop measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the Safety Management System (SMS), policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries.
- Compile, analyze, interpret, and report accident, injury, loss, damage and exposure statistical data; monitor and implement of corrective actions to identify, eliminate or minimize potential hazards according to the safety action plan and provide periodic reports to the ACM and the responsible committee.
- Conduct Safety Committee meetings.
- Responsible for the overall development, maintenance and control of the required safety training within the organization and if necessary, conduct specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information.
- Promote the Just Culture and open reporting system.
- Provide advice on all safety issues within the organization including but not limited to all city, state, and federal safety compliance regulations.
- Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment and management.
- Initiation of occurrence reports and investigations if necessary
- Perform internal audits
- Direct environmental compliance programs related to hazardous wastes, air permitting, water pollution control, and community right-to-know programs.
- Work together with the European EHS Manager and the external safety expert to achieve compliance with corporate and local EHS requirements
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience within aviation in the area of Continuous Airworthiness Management and/or Aircraft Maintenance
- Technical degree or aircraft certifying staff (alternatively 10 years relevant working experience in aviation)
- Understanding of corporate safety risk management and aviation safety practices, including Human Factors, ICAO standards, European Safety Requirements, Just Culture
- Proven Track Record in process definition, implementation and management, especially in the field of Compliance Monitoring
- Relevant knowledge of Textron Aviation Products helpful
- Strong communication skills
