The work schedule for this position is:
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Must be available to travel throughout Germany. This position may be required to regularly support events and VIP visits outside normal work hours in Berlin and other locations, as needed.
The Established Opinion Leaders (EOL) Exchanges Coordinator (official title: Public Engagement Assistant) is responsible for Mission Germany’s Public Diplomacy (PD) exchange programs for EOL audiences, including individuals and organizations such as think tanks, professional associations, civil society organizations, and academic institutions. Plans, implements, and coordinates activities to reach EOL audiences and thereby expand Mission access to opinion-makers and thought leaders. Manages all aspects of German inbound and outbound exchange programs for EOL audiences, including International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Coordinates Department of State (DOS)-funded programs and develops Mission-designed virtual and in-person exchange activities. Recommends grants and public/private partnerships to amplify US Government investment. Collaborates with the Strategic Content Coordination team to produce and disseminate multimedia content to engage participants in professional exchanges and to promote public awareness of Mission EOL exchange programs.

EXPERIENCE for Full Performance Grade, FSN-08: Three (3) years of experience is required with communications, public engagement management, or education duties as components of the work. Prior experience in an international, academic, or governmental work environment is required.
EXPERIENCE for Training Grade, FSN-07: Two (2) years of experience is required with communications, public engagement management, or education duties as components of the work. Prior experience in an international, academic, or governmental work environment is required.
EDUCATION: A university degree in International relations, American Studies, Communications, Political Science, Economics, or local equivalent is required.
