To strengthen our team in Regensburg we are looking for a
Head of Engineering BMW (m/w/d)
Your tasks:
- Overall responsible for the development of wiring harnesses
- Guarantee that relevant quality assurance tools are employed such as Design Rules, DFM, FMEA, Engineering Change Management, APQP
- Assure Correct Validation is performed on all W/H and ensure changes post drawing are correctly validated
- Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality,
and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market
- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of Design Engineering from pre RFQ activities to end of life of product
- Ensure correct planning and resourcing is developed and tracked on all projects
- Ensure released drawings both internally and to customer are on time and to correct quality
- Work together with manufacturing to ensure manufacturability of product while maintaining quality, and achieving cost targets
- Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
- Contribute to overall Engineering strategy
- Providing technical support to key stakeholders
- Work with Purchasing and Sales in delivery cost saving activities and support Business Vertical Integration strategy
- Report on Engineering activities on a regular basis to the Senior Management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators
- Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety, engineering and quality standards and procedures are adhered to
Your profile:
- University degree as a Bachelor in Engineering
- At least 8 years Wiring Harness Design & Development Engineering delivery experience
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers
- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
- Demonstratable track record of delivery multiple projects simultaneously on time, on cost to a high quality
