Job Description
We are looking for an exceptional Strategic Assortment Manager who will help pet parents cover their pets' needs and get access to the best product portfolio. You will drive assortment performance in all of zooplus' shops across Europe. Being a part of the unique Strategic Assortment Management team that provides a central function bridging the worlds of Purchasing, Logistics, and Shops, you will have a direct impact on the business, thus, setting zooplus apart from its competitors.

As a Strategic Assortment Manager, you will:
- Analyze zooplus' assortment in all required dimensions (customers, product groups, manufacturers, brands, shops/countries, brand/private label, etc.)
- Consider external data (e.g. trends) and perform market and competitor analyses, draw conclusions for zooplus' assortment
- Discuss and agree on assortment, supplier, and brand strategies
- Prepare and facilitate decision-making and target-setting processes (e.g. SKU budgets)
- Perform related planning processes (e.g. OLP) and break down targets
- Define operational assortment framework (e.g. minimum sales/margin), operate and decide autonomously within the agreed framework
- Develop and discuss specific assortment improvement initiatives
- Be the focal point for assortment-related projects and initiatives, support Vendor and Private Label managers for assortment topics
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in a business-related discipline
- Significant and relevant work experience (3+ years) in the FMCG industry or retail business, ideally with links to e-commerce
- Backgrounds from vendor management, business analysis within retail, merchandising, and/or experience in procurement or as a strategic buyer are welcome
- Fluency English and German
- Strong communication skills (speaking, writing, presenting) with a track record of gaining agreement from diverse sets of stakeholders
- Experience in an international working environment combined with excellent intercultural communication skills
- Strong ability to analyze, synthesize, and develop solutions with a customer-centric mindset
- Ability to unlock complex issues and to work in a cross-functional environment
- Strength to understand customer needs and market requirements to enhance the customer experience
- Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Advanced Excel skills, SQL knowledge is a plus
