The Data Mining Group at Mainz University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to
join our team as a Linux R Shiny Server Administrator. This part-time position involves setting up
and managing a Linux-based R Shiny server to support our research activities. The successful
candidate will have a strong understanding of Linux systems, experience with server setup and
configuration, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize server performance. This is a great

Responsibilities:

• Setup, configure, and maintain a Linux-based R Shiny server for the Data Mining Group.
• Collaborate with researchers to understand their needs and ensure the server meets their requirements.
• Install and manage R packages, libraries, and dependencies necessary for Shiny applications.
• Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance as needed.
• Develop and maintain documentation for server setup, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide technical support and training to researchers using the server

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working with Linux systems, specifically in server administration.
• Familiarity with R programming language and packages commonly used for data mining and visualization.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a research-driven environment.
