You can join us today as a Procurement Manager based in Germany. In this role you'll drive through the procurement strategy and embed best in class procurement practices. You'll have the responsibility of shaping the structure of the categories portfolio by defining the sourcing strategy and driving the strategic relationship with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

You will implement the Framework Agreements you managed locally or that have been managed at European level in a fast-paced environment, ensuring service availability to meet business goals while minimizing risks, optimizing Total Cost of Ownersip (TCO) and rolling out ESG GXO policy.

What are your typical tasks in a role of Procurement Manager:

• Seek out and propose commercially beneficial opportunities using market and business knowledge
• Manage Procurement compliance with appointed suppliers and identify opportunities for supplier growth
• Implement approved savings strategies and projects
• Identify and proactively manage issues and risks associated with appointed categories
• Make suggestions for and ensure Procurement initiatives and strategies are maximized
• Provide key reporting with correct level of details to the appropriate audience
• Ensure documented audit trails of all negotiations and agreements are retained
• Liaise with all relevant internal functions to ensure proposed strategies are appropriate & effective
• Manage tendering projects summarizing and making recommendations of supplier appointment
• Carry out all duties having due regard for GXO Logistics Health & Safety procedures
• Carry out any other duties as reasonably required

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Knowledge of centralized Procurement organizations and purchasing processes & practices
• Previous experience of working in a diverse multi-site profit & loss based organization dealing with many stakeholders at varying levels
• Previous experience of evaluating and understanding best value and Total Cost of Ownership

• Full professional proficiency in both English and German
• Doer: Ability to successfully deliver end-to-end projects, working through obstacles along the way
• Problem Solving: Ability to utilize good problem-solving skills to work through difficult challenges
• Negotiation: Demonstrated success delivering improved financial performance through large scale negotiations for subcontracted transportation services contracts. Negotiate purchasing rates, committed agreements, T&C’s…
• Strategy: Track-record of leading strategy within Procurement projects and the overall Procurement function to support Business goals, not just financial goals
• Communicaton: Ability to communicate expectations and requirements equally well with external and internal leadership teams, capacity to write well-reasoned and data-driven proposals, performing your own data analysis as necessary
• Management: wish to evolve towards a manager role.
