As a Metrology Technician at the Gigafactory, you will become an integral part of the Metrology group within our Quality organization. Your primary focus involves the regular operation of advanced measurement equipment to ensure our production meets the highest standards. You will play a crucial role in root cause analysis and execute part sampling for daily control plans and in-process inspections. This role is perfect for detail-oriented professionals who thrive in a consistent, high-precision environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-precision inspection and verification of parts and assemblies using CMM, Faro, and GOM technologies.
- Utilize specialized software such as Calypso, Caligo, Polyworks, and GOM Inspect for data analysis.
- Generate and analyze detailed reports to drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Calibrate and maintain all test and measurement equipment prior to use to ensure accuracy.
- Implement Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) best practices across various departments.
- Collaborate closely with the Quality Engineering Team to solve complex problems and enhance overall product quality.
Your Profile
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a metrology or quality-focused role, ideally with CMM programming and operation.
- Proficiency in using manual measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
- Hands-on experience with Zeiss CMMs and associated software like Calypso or Zeiss Inspect is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret technical mechanical drawings and apply GD&T standards.
- Resilience and flexibility to succeed in a fast-paced, evolving production environment.
- Readiness to work within a three-shift rotation to support 24/7 operations.
