Your Role
As a Lead Engineer for Life Safety Systems at exyte, you take ownership of planning, developing, and implementing electrical systems for safety and emergency power supply. You ensure that our projects meet the highest life safety standards – from initial concept through to commissioning.
What You Will Do
- Design and plan life safety and communication systems: fire and gas detection, public safety radio (BOS), safety lighting, access control, intrusion detection, video monitoring, passive and active networks, and loudspeaker systems.
- Translate PID schematics into functional descriptions for building management systems (HVAC, lighting, shading), prepare material take-offs, and develop electrical schematics.
- Select systems and components, defining technical specifications and data sheets.
- Deliver projects within budget, quality, and schedule targets.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, other disciplines, and external engineering firms.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and certification requirements.
- Coordinate interfaces across disciplines and individual trades.
- Apply the latest technical regulations, codes of practice, and customer specifications.
Your Expertise
- Proven knowledge in design and construction planning for safety and communication systems (fire/gas detection, safety lighting, access control and interlocking, intrusion detection, video monitoring, passive networks, call systems).
- Experience in detail design for building automation systems (HVAC, lighting, shading) – including PID-to-functional translation, material take-offs, and electrical schematics.
- System and component design across project phases: concept, basic design, and detail design.
- Completed degree in engineering (Bachelor or Master).
- 5+ years of professional experience in life safety, network, and building automation systems.
- Experience with industrial facility monitoring and control systems is a plus.
- Confident use of standard computer programs and MS Office.
- Strong team player with initiative, commitment, and flexibility.
