We are at the heart of the Mercedes-Benz.io business operations, responsible for corporate finance and controlling within the Finance team. We love working with people, partners and pivots.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller (f/m/x) , starting in October 2023 . In this full-time and permanent position, we are offering a great opportunity to take over responsibility for financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting and reporting, working with key stakeholders across the company.

In this role you will

• Prepare annual budgets as well as financial forecasts throughout the year
• Conduct budget reviews with key stakeholders
• Prepare statutory financial statements applying local GAAP (HGB) for the German entity as well as for the group of entities
• Coordinating the organization’s accounting structure and areas of focus
• Participate in month end closing activities including accruals, provisions, reconciliations ensuring accurateness and timeliness
• Performing analyses, deviations, findings and interpreting trends requiring management’s attention
• Partnering with finance business partners and other key stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
• Developing and documenting applicable policies and business processes to strengthen internal controls
• Develop and expand financial reporting in our internal Power Bi-Dashboard
• Act as business partner for other teams to support improvement of processes
• Additional Controller duties as necessary

To succeed you need

• Hold a degree in business studies and a recognized finance degree (CPA, Controller Akademie or similar)
• 4+ years of experience in a controller role
• Have experience with creation and analysis of financial statements
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Familiarity with financial management reporting
• Experience with month-end and year-end close process
• Strong communication skills and excellent stakeholder management skills
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Excellent written and verbal German (C1) and intermediate English (B2)
• Hands-on and collaborative mindset
• Proactive personality that gets things done
• Strong ability to learn and adapt in a hybrid setup
