Drive technical excellence and architect the future of virtualization within the EC2 Nitro System organization. This position puts you at the core of cloud infrastructure innovation, shaping high-performance Hypervisor solutions, Nitro Enclaves, Confidential Computing, and next-generation EC2 Core Platforms. You will operate directly at the intersection of hardware and software engineering to deliver bare-metal execution speeds backed by robust, industry-leading security mechanisms.
Your strategic technical guidance will directly impact millions of global AWS users running critical workloads daily. Beyond architecting distributed low-level infrastructure processing billions of operations, you will lead organizational decision-making, direct key platform roadmaps, and mentor engineering talent across multi-functional international teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Proven track record in scalable production systems development and software engineering best practices
- Deep expertise in low-level systems programming using C/C++ or comparable languages
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems, systems software, or distributed architectures
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale technical initiatives across diverse organizational teams
- Strong command of the complete software development lifecycle, including code reviews, build tooling, testing, and live operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and executive stakeholders
- Openness to integrating advanced AI tools to boost technical efficiency and problem-solving capabilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Background in firmware engineering, BIOS, UEFI, or hardware-software co-design
- Experience with bare-metal optimizations, real-time operating systems, or high-performance computing
- Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex architectural ambiguities
- Strong track record of mentoring engineers and executing cross-functional software projects from design to release
