At Evotec’s headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, the Data Science team within the Translational Neurosciences department is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated
Research Associate (all genders)
Full time / part time and permanent / temporary
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with data science and bioinformatics team to improve strategies for mining omic data, translating it into biological conclusions
- In-depth biological interpretation of single cell omics-approaches with a focus on (CNS-)disease-related signaling pathways and drug mechanism of action
- Contribute to target and drug discovery within CNS-related therapeutic areas
- Communicate findings and present results internally and externally
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology or related field with expertise in single cell omics
- Sound experience developing single cell data processing and analysis pipelines
- Experience in integration of transcriptomics and genomics/epigenetics data analysis on single cell level
- Aptitude for algorithms and mathematical and statistical evaluation of data
- Programming experience (R-Bioconductor/python) applied to omics
- Knowledge of nervous systems disease biology, e.g. neurodegeneration and/or neurodevelopmental diseases is a big asset but not mandatory
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Experience in working in interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects in parallel
- High degree of initiative and flexibility, with the ability to deliver results under challenging timelines
- Excellent command of the English language
