The Center MP/X (purchasing of roof systems and mirrors) introduces itself:

MP/X is responsible for the module purchasing of exterior / chassis parts, for the project management of the van series as well as for the purchased part quality of exterior / chassis parts. In module purchasing, we carry out benchmark analyses of the supplier market as part of tenders, conduct contract negotiations and are responsible for global supplier selection and thus for the development of worldwide sourcing strategies.

Project management controls the award process for the van series, coordinates all series-related decisions for vans and drives localization worldwide. In Purchased Parts Quality, we ensure the supplier quality of exterior/chassis parts over the entire vehicle lifecycle. Global maturity management and the application of various quality methods for the continuous improvement process are among our core competencies.

As part of the student trainee position, you will support the Exterior Roof Systems and Mirrors Purchasing team.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• Active participation in the operational business (elaborations in Excel/ PowerPoint, preparation and follow-up of negotiations)
• Checking of purchasing contracts in Excel
• Collaboration in the preparation and evaluation of new contract award or resource scopes
• Preparation of inquiry documents and offer compilations
• Creation and comparison of various business cases based on forecasted unit quantities/costs
• Preparation and participation in supplier meetings/negotiations
• Tracking and support in change management process
• Participation in the organization of workshops, bid presentations and supplier meetings
• Evaluation and analysis of purchasing key figures
• Support in cost plausibility checks and negotiations
• Preparation of management reports

• Course of study in the field of economics, business administration, engineering or comparable
• Previous experience in purchasing through internships or similar is a plus, not a must
• Confident handling of MS-Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Confident knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
• Commitment and ability to work in a team
• Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
• Communication skills
