Role Summary:

The duties of Commercial Operations include the handling of inquiries and preparing of quotations under consideration of the sales strategy as well as the handover of correctly clarified orders to order fulfillment. Commercial Operations serves as the primary interface between the sales organization and the production sites.

The Application Engineer will have intense contact to customers and outside sales on the assigned inquiries for vacuum pumps, compressors, and related systems, with main focus on international projects based on standards like ASME and API.

This position reports to the Supervisor Commercial Operations Itzehoe.

Your Role:

• Checking inquiries and specifications, selection of machines and apparatuses and the complete system.
• Evaluation and clarification of the commercial terms and conditions.
• Obtaining quotations from external suppliers for the required components (vessels, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation) in close cooperation with supply chain as well as clarification of costs and lead times for the machines and components of own production in cooperation with operations and controlling.
• Preparation of quotations observing the valid directives and guidelines regarding business integrity, and internal processes (for example the autoSAP).
• Data maintenance on the allocated Opportunities in FlowForce
• Intense Communication with internal partners like outside sales, engineering, legal, operations, and finance.
• Ensure professional handover of orders from Commercial Operations to order handling.

Your Profile:

• degree in engineering (process engineering, mechanical engineering, ….).
• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• several years of professional experience in international projects and preparation of quotations of complex products in the market of the chemical process industry, possibly with focus on Oil&Gas, Refineries and Petrochemicals and preferably good knowledge of vacuum and compressor technology.
• Experienced in using the leading ERP- and IT-Systems (SAP, MS Office, FlowForce and Affinity/IQ).
• Languages: German and English, fluent in speaking and writing.
• Process oriented and entrepreneurial thinking.
• High quality awareness, operational readiness and flexibility.
• Analytic and strategic thinking
