Duties & Responsibilities:
To strengthen our team in Eningen unter Achalm, VIAVI Solutions is seeking a Senior Technical Writer with 7+ years' experience writing customer-facing user documentation for optical networking solutions.

Create and update user documentation describing the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of High-Speed Ethernet testing equipment and software.

Actively and professionally engage with diverse subject matter experts and stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines, and gather appropriate research.

Effectively and independently manage the content development cycle, covering planning, writing, draft reviews, final approvals, and translation requirements for new and updated content.

Participate in gate reviews.

Follow defined procedures and style guidelines, and use established authoring tools to produce documentation in PDF and HTML formats.

Gather and/or create graphics and screen images.

Ensure that source files, drafts, and final deliverables are properly managed, archived, and accessible to stakeholders.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

University degree or comparable experience writing customer documentation for optical networking solutions.

Advanced German (C1). Fluent oral and written technical English.

Experience transforming complex technical information into well organized, clear, and comprehensive customer-facing user documentation.

Knowledge of Optical Transport Networking technologies.

Experience creating, managing, and publishing structured content in an XML-based authoring environment (preferably DITA).

Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, while effectively addressing technical challenges, and shifting requirements and timelines.

Experience working with vector- and image-editing tools; for example, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop or similar.

Familiarity with screencasting tools for transforming written procedures into how-to videos.

Basic knowledge of Git and Linux command line (helpful).
