Position Overview
As an Air Freight Specialist, you manage order processing, shipment registration, freight organization, customs handling, and export control. You prepare and monitor quotes, process accurate customer billing, and handle special orders and complaints. Additionally, you advise customers and agents, prepare shipping and customs documentation, monitor deadlines, maintain performance statistics, optimize workflows, support management projects, and execute general administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage order processing, shipment registration, and export controls
- Organize air freight handling and manage customs documentation
- Prepare, monitor, and follow up on customer quotes
- Execute accurate customer billing and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Handle special orders, claims, and complaint management
- Provide operational support and advice to global customers and agents
- Maintain performance statistics to support business operations and accounting
- Optimize operational workflows and assist management with strategic projects
- Perform general administrative duties and file management
Qualifications
- Ideally 2 years of experience in air freight forwarding within an international environment
- In-depth knowledge of customs clearance procedures and air transport regulations
- Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
- Strong ability to work independently with high attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
- Proficiency in freight forwarding software and MS Office Suite
- Excellent team player with strong communication skills
- Experience with CargoWise software is a strong advantage
