Our Core Systems segment's mission is to architect a highly adaptable, compliant, and cost-effective global core banking service, empowering N26 to reach its next 100 million customers.

The Core product segment at N26 is at the heart of N26's financial backend, collaborating closely with the Bank, Legal, Compliance, and Commercial departments. This team is key to building a robust, aligned stack across all markets, providing the backbone for scaling our business while ensuring full compliance.

We are seeking a data-driven and technically skilled Head of Product to spearhead the infrastructure of the future bank and drive key growth and operational metrics.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and develop the Core Systems product domain, guiding a team of high-performing product managers to deliver a world-class, compliant, and user-centric financial technology infrastructure.
• Develop and implement a strategic vision for N26's core banking product, managing its interactions within the organization, global rollout, and decisions around building versus buying.
• Forge strong relationships with Bank, Legal, and Compliance teams to align priorities and build a core banking system that supports N26's ambitious goals.
• Own the core banking product roadmap and OKRs, regularly communicating insights and results to C-level executives, board members, and other key stakeholders.
• Serve as a role model for product and organizational culture.
• Collaborate with other segment leads to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Partner closely with cross-functional leaders in the segment to ensure teams are positioned for success.

What you need to be successful:

• A proven track record of architecting scalable and efficient core banking/financial backend systems within a mature fintech startup or similar environment.
• A deep understanding of the banking ecosystem, retail/corporate banking product lifecycles, accounting, and back-office operations.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to craft coherent, persuasive, multi-dimensional narratives.
• Strong technical acumen and familiarity with emerging core banking trends such as API banking, Digital banking, and Cloud adoption.
• Exceptional people leadership skills, with a history of building and leading high-performing product teams.
• Exceptional analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, including trade-off management and conflict resolution.
• Extensive experience with agile methodologies, leading multiple streams of complex work, and effectively communicating and instilling the vision across Product, Tech, and partner teams to achieve a clear focus.
