We are a global leader in industrial biotechnology, developing and producing first-in-class enzymes for regulated markets. In strain development, we are building new expression strains that are the basis for our innovative products.

We are working on the expansion of our technology platform by further developing molecular biology tools and establishing new expression systems. In close cooperation with enzyme and process development we are directly involved in the creation of new products.

Your main tasks:

• You will drive the development of new expression strains based on filamentous fungi.
• You will pool knowledge through literature and patent searches, develop concepts and participate in the planning of new projects.
• You will act as part of a team and be responsible for the implementation of experiments in the laboratory, from the creation of molecular biology tools to the testing of new strains in the fermenter.
• Preparing project reports and presentations and presenting results to internal and external project participants.
• You will work closely with other R&D departments and report to the Head of Expression Systems, R&D.

Your profile:

• University degree in a scientific subject related to the life sciences (e.g., biochemistry, biotechnology or biology), preferably with a PhD
• In-depth experience in the engineering of filamentous fungi and their use for recombinant protein production is required, experience in the fermentation of filamentous fungi is a plus.
• As a dedicated team player, you are happy to share your extensive experience in the laboratory with others. Don't be afraid to pick up the pipette yourself.
• You have good communication and presentation skills and have a structured and problem-solving way of working.
• Since we operate globally as part of the Kerry Group, you will score points with very good written and spoken English skills.
