PostDoc position immunology (m/f/d)

The projects require both wet-lab and bioinformatics analysis. Our group studies human B-lymphocytes development, maturation and activation in physiological and pathological conditions. Our lab has unique expertise in in-vitro modelling of early and late human B cell development that we use: to uncover mechanisms of disease in monogenic defects leading to autoimmunity; to study the B cell function in more complex rheumatological diseases; to assess the specific impact on human B lymphocytes of novel targeted therapies. The research focuses of the position will be: single cell analysis of developmental pathways in early and late B cell development; B cell repertoire analysis, development of 3D culture systems to model development and cell-cell interactions, integration and outcome of signaling in B cells.

Involvement in student teaching and mentoring

Required skills:

Ph.D. in biology or in a related field with an excellent publication record OR
PhD in computer science, mathematics, physics, bioinformatics, computational biology or similar background with focus on bioinformatics or data science. Alternatively, a M.Sc. or equivalent qualification with complementary years of relevant experience.
hands-on experience with workflow development and -omics data (single cell RNA seq, transcriptomics, B cell receptor repertoire) analysis using open source software and algorithms
Experience in state-of-the-art molecular biology and/or biochemistry
Experience in working with primary human cells and cell lines (isolation, cultivation, stimulation, 3D cultures)
creative innovative thinking
intrinsic motivation, high precision of work and the ability to conduct independent research
Interest in working in an interdisciplinary environment
proven English presenting and writing skills

The position is limited to 36months.
