Your Job as Software Engineer – Data Pipelines

You and your team colleagues are working in the data engineering area of our inhouse developed platform called Model Calculation Platform. You are connecting the corresponding development team of that platform, that is focusing on the product as such, and the Data Engineering team that is focusing on the feeds that collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable information for data scientists and business analysts to interpret. Your tasks will involve the following responsibilities:

• Develop, support, and continuously improve the data pipelines we offer to our stakeholder

• Split your time between development and operational tasks (monitoring the system, taking responsibility on incident handling and helping/supporting user)

• Connect with our business stakeholders and understand their requirements

• Know about the data and the background, share this knowledge with the whole Data Engineering team, organize knowledge sharing session

• Support in creating the user stories together with the business, making sure, requirements are clear

• Implementation of and participation in the design of the data structure principles and patterns

Your Profile as Software Engineer – Data Pipelines

You should have an entrepreneurial behavior and be passionate about developing yourself as well as our business.

• Ideally academic background with a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related subject

• Good knowledge about marked data and fundamental data

• 3+ years’ experience in software development ideally linked to data pipeline engineering at energy companies, banks, hedge funds or (algorithmic) trading firms

• Ideally experience with distributed systems and cloud/container technologies (Kubernetes, ideally in Azure)

• Proven programming skills and experience in compiled (Java, C, C++ or C#) and one scripting language (ideally Python)

• Experience in continues integration and automated deployment (ideally Azure DevOps)

• Fluency in English (both written and spoken); additional languages advantageous

• Team player with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various internal stakeholders
