As the Sales Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing customer accounts, crafting tailored solutions to meet client needs, and driving both sales and profitability. You will identify opportunities for account expansion while offering a comprehensive suite of value-added services. Furthermore, you will monitor industry trends and competitor actions to maintain a competitive edge and pinpoint emerging sales prospects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a high-performing sales team to exceed revenue and volume targets.
• Drive the growth of ocean and freight forwarding solutions for the company by forging strategic partnerships with key customers.
• Establish and implement effective sales strategies for ocean and freight businesses on a global scale.
• Prospect for target customers through proactive networking and leveraging existing relationships within the broader FedEx enterprise.
• Ensure the achievement of revenue and margin goals for assigned accounts.
• Develop comprehensive business plans for each customer account, outlining sales growth activities and competitive pricing strategies.
• Collaborate across functional areas to develop innovative solutions, compelling proposals, and effective pricing models.
• Engage with senior-level customers to gauge satisfaction, manage at-risk accounts, and proactively address their evolving needs.
• Oversee the proposal and presentation process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of all required documents.
• Provide weekly reporting on new business development and the status of customer accounts in various stages of the sales cycle.
• Lead the team with passion and enthusiasm, fostering a professional and engaging sales environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) and 8-10 years of experience in ocean and freight forward sales.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in leading a sales team.
• Experience selling to C-Suite Executives is highly preferred.
• Proven experience with logistics processes, solutions, and project management.
• Strong understanding of the ocean freight import process, from issuance to final delivery.
• Demonstrated success in selling global solutions to customers of varying size and complexity.
• Ability to plan and execute sales strategies to achieve major account goals.
