Purpose
The Senior Manager, Transportation Control & Billing is a key in-house, leadership role for an organized, passionate, and analytical leader who understands the challenges and the opportunities of EU wide supply chain and transportation network. S/he needs to be capable of end-to-end owning, collecting, and analysing a complex set of business data; convert them into relevant decks and decision support materials; and present to senior management.
The successful candidate will be expected to have extensive team leadership experience (both operational teams as well as decision support teams), financial understanding of transportation services and surcharges, lead the regional transportation data analytics and performance management teams to gauge performance, support and drive decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
The leadership role leads 2 pillars of transportation:
a) Control / Data Analytics Teams
- Lead the Transportation Control / Data Analytics teams. Own the Transportation Data landscape and be the main POC for all internal and external partners in terms of data and related quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Develop, manage, update, and present regional transportation decks and scorecards.
- Drive data-driven decision making in whole EU network deliveries
- Analyse and pinpoint top improvement areas within Supply Chain
- Own the operational and financial performance reporting of the department, including the relevant Master Data maintenance
- Carry out ad hoc analysis to drive agile decision making
- Support ongoing and designed projects with data, by building and justifying business cases
b) Billing / Invoice Control Teams.
- Leads the Invoice Control team, which makes sure that adidas is charged and does payments correctly and rightfully within the contractual terms and rates
- Drives the month end accrual process
- Has a big input for organizational budgeting in terms of OPEX forecasting, and transportation spend.
- Owns the financial (rate cards and surcharges) and operational (lead times and cut off) master data ownership of transportation parameters.
- Oversees and safeguards the accuracy of TMS (transportation management system) and SAP master data and the data quality of our reporting tools.
- Analyzes financial data, suggests cost optimization tactics, plans and strategies.

- Global Operations (Global Transportation, Procurement. Digital, Strategy and IT)
