What you will do

As our Research Working Student you will support Mimi's internal research studies on hearing testing and sound processing:

• 
  Establish test protocols in collaboration with the research team
• Play an active role in the recruitment process of research participants
• Support data acquisition for research studies (on-location and remote/online)
• Analyze acquired data and present findings to the research team
• Perform technical measurements on acoustic hardware (various types of headphones) and analyse corresponding data
• Assess relevant scientific literature in areas such as signal processing or listening tests and discuss outcomes with to the team

What you bring to the table

• Student of acoustics, audiology, perceptual psychology, media technology, linguistics or a similar field
• Highly motivated to autonomously solve problems
• Fluent in English, intermediate to fluent German skills (Level B2 or above)
• Great attention to detail and superb organisational skills
• Enjoy communicating and working with study participants of various ages and states of hearing
• Available ~15-20h per week, for 6 months, available to work at our Berlin office for at least one day per week

• Experience in human perceptual/behavioural testing, psycho-acoustics/-physics, and/or technical acoustic measurements, including corresponding data analysis methods
• Experience with audio/signal processing, technical acoustics, linguistics/speech processing and/or the assessment of subjective listening preference
• Experience in setting up and using local laboratory or remote research setups for auditory research
• Experience with programming in Python / Jupyter / Pandas or comparable setups

• In 3 months: You actively supported Mimi researchers in 2-3 research study projects and learned about Mimi's specific research and product context.
• In 6 months: You are able to draft, prepare and organise a research study on your own, with support from Mimi researchers, and present the findings to the team.
