We are now looking for a Requirements Engineer who can help us to continuously improve Volue’s ability to provide value to customers in line with the Volue mission. This entails requirements analysis in implementation projects with new customers as well as for existing customers and market changes, designing new configuration artefacts such as market packages and maintaining them. In order to achieve this, you will be working together with your colleagues in the consulting team in Basel and Düsseldorf.

What you will be doing to make a difference:

• Responsibility for software delivery projects in the role as requirements engineer and lead consultant
• Analysis and specification of business requirements
• Analysis and specification of business and technical processes in energy markets
• Configuration of business-critical software solutions that are in operational use 24x7
• Lead customer workshops
• Conducting customer training and providing technical support and documentation to end users
• Depending on your skills and qualifications, the role may be combined with responsibility for projects and accounts or other responsibilities in the organization

What you need to succeed:

Mandatory

• Relevant degree from a university or an advanced technical college
• Track record of 5 years’ experience with software projects within the energy industry, especially in the field of energy trading
• Advanced English language skills, German language skills is a plus

Considered as advantage

• Experience with software solutions in the field of energy trading and the continuous intraday markets in Europe
• Knowledge and experience with scripting, message exchange formats, web services and other communication protocols
• Good knowledge of SQL
• Experience with Scripting (e.g. Groovy, Java Script, Python)
Experience with Microsoft Azure hosting environments

The position reports to the Team Lead, Consulting, and cooperates closely with our consulting, development, operations and support teams. We are looking to hire for Volue office in Düsseldorf/Cologne area or Basel but will be ready to consider other locations for the right candidate.
