We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our MPS team. MPS (Meta Programming System) is an open-source language workbench for domain-specific languages (DSLs).

Introduced by JetBrains in 2009, MPS has since been a key player in the language engineering and metamodelling domains. The MPS development team is focused on the continued development of the tool to maintain its leading position.

As part of our team, you will:

• Improve all aspects of MPS’s integration with the IntelliJ Platform.
• Develop the MPS plugin for IntelliJ IDEA.
• Be involved in the development of the platform integration DSL.
• Practice your Java programming skills.
• Use MPS-based DSLs in your day-by-day activities.
• Communicate in English on a daily basis.

We'll be happy to see you as a part of the team if you have:

• 5+ years of working experience programming in Java.
• Knowledge of Kotlin.
• Deep understanding of OOP.
• Knowledge of fundamental algorithms and data structures.
• Experience doing Swing UI development.
• General mathematical knowledge.
• Multi-threaded programming experience.
• Ability to optimize and refactor other people’s code as well as your own.
• Fluency in English.

• Hands-on experience programming in Kotlin.
• Experience in IDE development.
• Experience with DSLs.
• Knowledge of other programming languages (Groovy, Haskell, Scala, Objective-C, etc.).
• Experience working with systems for code generation.
