The Role

As a Senior Data Scientist in the AI Decisioning team within the Communications Tribe, you'll be pivotal in enhancing HelloFresh's customer engagement strategy. Your focus will be on advanced feature engineering and optimization, crafting key data features, and employing sophisticated analytical methods to boost the performance of our cutting-edge AI decisioning platform. Your work will supply the predictive data and continuous optimization needed for this engine to deliver the right message to the right customer at the right time via the right channel. What You’ll Do

In this position, you will significantly contribute to our decisioning intelligence. You’ll manage crucial analytical initiatives, utilizing advanced analytics and partnering across the business to maximize impact.

Modeling & Optimization

• Lead Predictive Analysis: Spearhead the creation and implementation of machine learning models to tackle intricate business challenges, from predicting churn to enabling large-scale personalization.
• Develop & Validate Data Features: Create, prepare, and validate the essential data features that power our models, ensuring their robustness and predictive power.
• Champion Model Performance: Enhance model quality and reliability by applying best practices in validation, monitoring, and A/B testing.

Strategic Collaboration & Impact

• Enable Data-Driven Decisions: Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams, translating complex data into actionable insights that inform strategy.
• Act as a Strategic Analytics Partner: Work proactively with stakeholders to define business problems, convert needs into analytical solutions, and explore Generative AI for content optimization.
• Guide and Mentor: Support the team by mentoring data scientists, establishing analytical best practices, and contributing your insights to shape our methodologies.

What You’ll Bring

Core Skillset:

• Data Science Background: Solid background in data science or a related quantitative field, with proven success in applying machine learning to solve business problems.
• Core Tech Stack Experience: Comfortable with Python (including pandas and scikit-learn) and SQL. Hands-on experience with machine learning methodologies (e.g., regression, classification) and experimentation (e.g., A/B testing).
• A Mindset of Ownership & Initiative: Proactive and accountable, with full ownership from ideation to impact. Passion for driving measurable outcomes and identifying/solving issues before they escalate.

Nice to Haves:

• Domain & Tool Experience: Experience in the MarTech or CRM domains is advantageous.
• Modern Platform Proficiency: Familiarity with data platforms like Databricks or the PySpark ecosystem, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
