We are on the brink of launching an innovative robotics company and have initiated the application process for an EXIST scholarship. In order to bolster our team, we are actively seeking a skilled software developer to join us as a co-founder. Our long-term vision for the company revolves around providing intelligent construction robots that can automate various tasks on construction sites, thus alleviating the ongoing labor shortage. Our first project involves the creation of a robot that autonomously removes concrete using high-pressure water, thus automating a labor-intensive and dangerous undertaking.
Position Details:
- Expected Starting Date: Ideally by the end of 2023 latest end 2024 with the start of EXIST.
- Duration: The project will be funded for a minimum of 18 months, with the first EXIST round.
- Salary: E13 (research associate salary) plus company shares.
Role Description: As a Software Engineer and Co-Founder, you will play a pivotal role in our robotics venture. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of critical tasks, including:
- Developing 3D computer vision for trajectory planning.
- Creating SLAM capabilities for autonomous navigation on the construction site.
- Implementing machine learning techniques to enhance path planning and object detection.
- Integrating various sensors and electronic components while ensuring seamless module communication.
- Developing error diagnosis and remote maintenance systems.
- Crafting electrical components and interfaces.
Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A master's degree in software engineering, robotics, electrical engineering, or a related field by early to mid-2024.
- Prior experience in software development or product development.
- Exceptional programming skills, particularly in C, Python, ROS, and OpenCV.
- Familiarity with control theory.
- Bonus points for experience in certification and safety systems.
