- Master degree in a quantitative field (e.g. physics, mathematics, bioinformatics, quantitative finance); PhD is a plus
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a data science environment in industry - experience in the chemical and consumer goods industry is a plus
- Proven track record in delivering data science products from prototype to deployment
- Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in at least one of the following data science areas: supervised or unsupervised machine learning, optimization, statistical modelling, deep learning, time-series analysis, graph analytics for big data
- Excellent coding knowledge in scripting languages (e.g. Python, R) and data processing frameworks (e.g. SQL, Spark, neo4j)
- High confidence in handling structured and unstructured data in cloud ecosystems (e.g. Azure tool stack). Experience in data preparation, data modeling, analysis, and visualization
- Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate closely with non-technical teams
- Strong skills in solving complex problems and Eagerness to take ownership of challenges
- Ability to structure, reduce complexity and transition from bird-eye-view to detailed view and back
- Strong experience in communicating results to a non-technical audience via data visualization and data story telling
- High confidence in both verbal and written communication
- Fluent in English; German language skill is a plus
