Description of the department:
The department GEO is offering Geo-Information Solution based on the Radar Satellite TerraSAR-X. The alignment of vision, concepts and specific requirements together with customers, as well as internal departments like Engineering, is key.
As an intern you will learn about: Using Radar Satellite data to improve existing or design new applications, Methods and ways of working.
Your Tasks:
- Rapid prototyping and realisation of geodata applications for projects in Python, R or other
- Preprocessing of SAR data (co-registration, layer stacking, filtering, segmentation, feature extraction, ortho-rectification)
- Workflow implementation in GIS, Remote Sensing Software
- Preparation of Training Data for Machine Learning and test of Deep Learning methods
- Find innovative solutions for fusion of objects Development and implementation of new network architectures
You offer:
- Background in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Geoinformatics
- Experience of a programming languages (R, Python, C, MATLAB or others), understanding of Data Analysis
- Experience in GIS, digital image processing of remote sensing data and/or digital elevation models desired Software experience with ArcGIS, image processing software (eg. ENVI, ERDAS Imagine) desired
- Basic knowledge of radar remote sensing , English and/or German
You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
