Tesla is looking for a highly driven technician to support the design and fabrication of manufacturing test equipment. As part of the manufacturing test team, you will be building electrical cabinets and mechanical systems that validate functionality of a variety of Tesla products on production lines (Supercharging, Battery Packs, Energy Products...). The role involves working closely with the engineers designing the test equipment to bring it from schematics to finished build

Responsibilities:

• 
  Building and wiring electrical cabinets and harnesses following design schematics
• Fabrication of mechanical systems for the test equipment
• Working with Electrical Engineers to design electrical schematics on EPLAN
• Creating best practices for high quality electrical builds and safe work standards

• Validate, integrate, deploy, and troubleshoot test systems on the production line.
• Workshop management to ensure availability of tools, inventory, and an effective workspace

• 
  Completed vocational education as Electrical Technician, Mechatronics Technician or equivalent

• 2 years + of experience working on building electrical cabinets and electrical system wiring
• Good fundamental understanding of electrical systems and how to troubleshoot them
• Strong experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics and circuits, wiring diagrams and harness drawings
• Ability to operate and maintain a wide variety of hand and power tools, and lab equipment.
• Experience using wiring tools such as crimpers, wire splicing, soldering, pin extraction tools

• Experience with measurement instrumentation & power distribution hardware (oscilloscope, multimeters, power supplies, transformers...)
• Ability to communicate in English in a work environment is a must
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to remain engaged, proactive, and positive in challenging circumstances, as well as to take full responsibility for assigned tasks and their success.
  Preferred:

  • 
    Experiencing designing electrical schematics on EPLAN is a big plus, we are looking for someone that can grow into designing on EPLAN
  • Understanding of mechanical assembly design, machining, 3D printing, laser cutting equipment are preferred but not required
  • German proficiency skills is a plus
