Your Role: You, as a Drug Substance-Lead, represent the process chemistry expertise within cross-functional teams and ensure high quality decision making on process development and supply of API. You lead collaborations with our process chemistry partners (within the company and with CDMOs) for our biopharma small molecule projects (NCEs) and antibody-drug-conjugates. Furthermore, you contribute to strategic decisions in the department like out-sourcing models, in-license evaluations (due diligences) and guideline interpretation etc. You report to the head of Drug Substance Development Chemical Sciences within Global Pharmaceutical Development and work in a matrix environment with other functional experts (QC, Formulation).

Who you are:

• University degree in organic chemistry preferably with a Ph.D.
• Project related experience in pharmaceutical development & chemical process development for at least 3 to 6 years
• Profound cGMP knowledge
• Experience with high potent drugs and antibody drug conjugates is of advantage
• Broad interdisciplinary experience with interfacing functions in CMC-development
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Fluent in English
