[Vollständig anzeigen] ), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, based in Europe, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and consulting teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues of EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million from the following segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineering & Technology, Goods & Services and Retail & Food. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

To support the strong development of our Munich office, we are looking for an intern (m/f/d) to join our M&A team in Munich, Germany, starting in September 2024 for a period of 4 to 6 months.

As an intern, you will support the existing investment team with the following tasks:

• Analyses of teasers and investment memoranda to identify suitable Mutares acquisitions.
• Assisting with financial modelling:
  • Set up financial reports on a monthly basis
  • Integration of assumptions to reflect the restructuring strategy
  • Normalisation of working capital
  • Analyses of debt and net debt items
  • Prepare valuations to determine true enterprise value
• Support due diligence:
  • Analyses of virtual data rooms
  • Critical thinking to identify areas of risk
  • Q&A preparation for expert calls
• Support in the preparation of offer documents
• Support in document preparation for potential exit transactions
• Support our Office Manager in administrative responsibilities for the Board of Directors

• At least a Tier 1 Bachelor's degree in economics (ideally with a specialisation in finance)
• Several completed internships, including experience in investment banking/M&A
• Excellent language skills in German and English
• Confident handling of MS Office applications (esp. Excel and Power Point)
• Team player & hands-on, independent thinking
