We at Car Data Insights are using data to design the future of Mercedes Cars.

In your 6-months internship in the Data Science team, you will have the opportunity to apply state of the art data science methods to help Mercedes-Benz Cars make better decisions in their day-to-day business. This internship is specific to training an LLM on company documentation and code bases to develop chatbots and developer productivity tools.

Are you passionate about machine learning? Have you been following chatGPT and the hype it has generated? Are you motivated with the challenge of driving the transformation needed to actually making an LLM useful for a business? Interested in joining us in using generative AI and LLMs to provide our customers a better user experience? Then we are looking for you!

Your tasks in detail:

• Deploying an open source LLM to existing cloud or on-prem infrastructure
• Training an LLM on company data in a data privacy-saving manner
• Testing performance of said LLM and comparison against commercial products
• Exposing said LLMs for both inference and training via APIs
• Develop chatbots and developer productivity tools using LLMs

• Degree program IT, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics or a comparable degree
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written
• Prior experience in Python and ML-related tools and packages
• Basic understanding of transformers and other LLM-relevant concepts
• Prior experience with training/deploying machine learning models
• Prior experience with cloud technologies and common services is a plus
