Your Role as Subsystem Lead Transmission

Take technical ownership of the transmission subsystem for state-of-the-art wind turbines at Nordex in Hamburg. In this pivotal role, you manage the main gearbox and its auxiliary components, including lubrication systems, brake systems, and shaft connections. You will ensure robust, safe, and verifiable solutions across the entire product lifecycle by combining systems thinking with hands-on design expertise in drivetrain engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative design concepts and detailed engineering solutions from inception to series production.
• Ensure all technical solutions align perfectly with the overall drivetrain architecture and turbine requirements.
• Coordinate and align technical decisions with the System Lead Drivetrain and international stakeholders.
• Manage subsystem requirements in strict compliance with system and product specifications.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation and engineering specifications according to PEP processes.
• Define test specifications, maintain DFMEA, and support risk assessments and field topics.

Your Profile

• Completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, specifically focusing on drivetrain or gearbox design for wind turbines.
• Proven expertise in systems engineering as well as the verification and validation of complex technical systems.
• Deep knowledge of DFMEA methodologies and the assessment of Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) parameters.
• Solid understanding of relevant technical standards, particularly ISO/IEC.
• Excellent communication skills for successful collaboration in interdisciplinary and international teams.
