Purpose of the Role
The Junior Legal Council provides key support to the legal team as well as providing daily legal counselling to the business. The Junior Legal Council provides support to a variety of legal colleagues, including to the Manager Legal & Compliance for compliance and ESG matters, the senior Legal Council for IP/Contractual matters whilst personally overseeing the maintenance of contracts and other legal templates.
You Will:
Compliance Responsibilities:
- Support in maintaining the Consumer Panel Service GfK compliance management system, including elements comprising the prevent, detect and respond pillars
- Conduct sanctions screening and support internal business partners in driving sanctions compliance
- Prepare materials for Consumer Panel Service GfK compliance training and communications
- Assist in communicating Consumer Panel Service GfK compliance policies and procedures including via training
- Assist with monitoring compliance with Consumer Panel Service GfK compliance policies and procedures
- Consult internal business partners on basic compliance matters
Legal Responsibilities:
- Support with the management of the Consumer Panel Service GfK intellectual property portfolio
- Advise internal business partners on trademark matters in consultation with the Manager Legal & Compliance
- Support with the maintenance of contract and other legal templates
- Support Manager Legal & Compliance with various tasks and processes
ESG Responsibilities:
- Assist with drafting ESG related reporting
- Respond to basic queries and support in preparing responses to queries and questionnaires from third parties such as clients and investors
You have:
- Approximately 1-3 years' relevant work experience in junior legal role e.g as a Paralegal
- A keen motivation to learn about and develop skills in the areas of compliance and ESG
- Basic knowledge of intellectual property law
- Basic knowledge of key international sanctions programs
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
