Student Assistant Data Ambassador*

Are you enthusiastic about the idea of not only analyzing data, but also communicating it effectively? Then you've come to the right place and should become part of our fairly new Data Analytics & AI (D&A) team. Welthungerhilfe is looking for a dedicated person to ensure that the understanding and use of data is improved. Help our team to creatively promote interest and knowledge in data and be our voice and ear in the organization. The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is initially limited to one year, with a good chance of extension. Working remotely within Germany is possible in coordination with your team, but we will still meet at our headquarters in Bonn Bad Godesberg from time to time. The scope of work is 20 hours/week to enable you to gain further qualifications as part of your ongoing studies. The hourly wage is 14 Euro per hour.

Your responsibilities

You are our connection to the organization: You like to communicate a lot with not data-savvy colleagues about the importance and role of data in Welthungerhilfe.
At the same time, you also listen to and address the data-related needs of our colleagues. As an open ear for wishes and problems, you pave the way for future data-based solutions in the organization.
You actively promote the accessibility and visibility of existing data solutions: To this end, you create and manage a SharePoint page that provides an overview of all the D&A team's offerings and activities.
Together with the thematic experts in the organization, you will engage in a targeted exchange on data quality and verify key figures in our information management systems and reports.
You will support colleagues worldwide in building their data knowledge. To do this, you identify learning needs and maintain and expand learning materials in the area of data literacy.
You have an eye for visualizations and support the development of Power BI reports.

Your profile

You are the perfect person for our team if you

are a registered student, preferably in the field of computer science, data science, media studies with a technical focus or any similar subject area and would like to put your theoretical knowledge into practice.
convince us with your personality through your passion for the topic of data communication paired with your will to move the organization forward together with us.
are interested in IT and/or BI topics, are creative and like to make suggestions for improvement.
are quick on the uptake of new information, have strong analytical thinking skills and enjoy taking on new tasks.
have a goal- and results-oriented and independent way of working and a high degree of autonomy.
enjoy working in a team and are not afraid to express your opinion.
are fluent in English verbally and in writing because Welthungerhilfe works in almost 40 countries. Knowledge of French or German would be an asset.
are comfortable with the common MS Office products, especially Teams, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools would be a plus.
