Compose is a modern reactive Kotlin UI framework, originally developed for Android by Google. The Compose Multiplatform team at JetBrains has extended this framework beyond Android and is actively working on supporting other platforms, including iOS and Desktop.
We are looking for a talented and ambitious Performance Engineer to join the Compose Multiplatform team and help us boost the performance of Compose Multiplatform applications.
As part of our team, you will:
- Develop an automated performance testing infrastructure, set up a CI pipeline, use appropriate existing tools, and design new ones.
- Review existing automated performance tests to provide further improvements and support.
- Aggregate performance test results and generate reports.
- Write new automated performance tests, which may require developing test cases for automation.
- Collaborate with developers and QA specialists.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of Kotlin Multiplatform, Compose Multiplatform, Android, and iOS development, and apply that knowledge in support of the team's efforts.
We will be happy to have you on our team if you have:
- Knowledge of and hands-on experience applying performance-measuring methodologies.
- Experience building automated testing infrastructure and processes.
- The ability to understand other people’s code, both in testing and production.
- A high enough level of English for communication and collaboration.
We will be especially thrilled if you have experience:
- Investigating and analyzing performance issues.
- Measuring the performance of UI applications.
- Measuring the performance of applications written in C, C++, or other languages compiled to native code.
- Measuring the performance of JVM applications.
- Understanding Compose framework internals.
- Understanding managed runtimes internals such as GC and memory management.
- Working closely with Gradle.
