Job Overview:

The Knowledge Services (KS) department supports our consultants with planning and execution of demanding research projects for various topics and industries as well as the interpretation, evaluation, and preparation of results. We are currently seeking a Senior Research Analyst (Practice Research Expert) with industry focus on the Retail and Consumer Goods Sector for our German offices. The Senior Research Analyst (Practice Research Expert) role is embedded within Oliver Wyman’s Retail & Consumer Goods Practice and requires regular interactions with Practice Leaders and Senior Practice-aligned Consultants. In this role you will provide advanced research support and analysis to assist in developing market strategies and to support client projects.

The Role:

• Conduct comprehensive market analyses, summarize and evaluate research findings

• Synthesis and packaging of research deliverables employing Excel, PowerPoint and BI tools to create impactful presentations

• Develop thought leadership and ability to quickly educate junior consulting staff in key market drivers and trends in the Retail and Consumer Goods industry

• Conduct focused research to support writing of white papers and reports on key themes in the Retail and Consumer Goods sector

• Functional lead of practice researchers in Europe and management of industry-specific sources portfolio

• Organize and lead complex research projects in collaboration with team members across multiple industries and regions

• Collaborate with Consultants and the Knowledge Management team to manage projects and assist in the development and curation of practice-themed Intellectual Capital (IC)

Who we are looking for:

• Advanced university degree

• you'll have 5 or more years professional experience in a consulting or market research context

• you'll have strong expertise in the Retail or Consumer Goods industry; background in the industry is a plus

• Knowledge of relevant general and industry-specific information sources such as Factiva, Capital IQ, Thomson Reuters, Euromonitor, SimilarWeb

• Strong analytical and project management skills will be vital in this role

• Excellent communication skills in German and in English

• Comfort speaking and presenting to senior audiences and external clients of the firm

• you'll have evidence of a collaborative approach in previous roles with a highly developed service orientation

• Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
