We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join our growing IntelliJ IDEA team to support the quality assurance process for WSL, Docker, Kubernetes, Dev Containers and other virtualized development environment tooling in the IntelliJ products family.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, maintain, and expand automated testing infrastructure.
- Write new and maintain existing automated tests. In most cases, this will require a deep understanding of the new functionality being tested.
- Regularly monitor build configurations with your tests.
- Investigate test failures and results in TeamCity and identify bugs (by analyzing logs, commits, and YourKit snapshots).
- Report bugs in YouTrack and verify that they are properly fixed and backported in all the appropriate branches.
- Collaborate with developers to share knowledge of product functionality and problems.
- Collaborate with product managers to estimate the priority and impact of issues.
We’d be happy to have you on our team if you:
- Have at least 3 years of experience in automated testing (web services, backends, desktop applications).
- Are experienced in building automated testing infrastructure and processes.
- Have expertise in CI/CD processes.
- Are experienced in testing commercial applications.
- Are able to write purposeful bug reports.
- Have experience working with version control systems and collaboration tools.
- Are ready to learn Kotlin to write automation scripts.
- Are passionate about learning and sharing knowledge.
- Have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Have good teamwork skills.
- Are able to make decisions and work without direct supervision.
- Are proficient enough in English to correspond with colleagues and end users.
We’d be especially thrilled if you:
- Have experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and other cloud and virtualization technologies.
- Are experienced with programming in Java or Kotlin.
- Have experience with testing against different operating systems.
- Are familiar with IntelliJ IDEA.
- Are willing to propose new ideas and improvements to current approaches.
- Have a desire to create great products that help users.
