As the Team Lead (m/f/d) for Single Molecule Detection Chemistry at Roche in Penzberg, you lead a team of four employees with technical and scientific backgrounds. You work on organic chemical syntheses, particularly in the field of bioorthogonal chemistry for single molecule detection via sequencing. We approach our tasks flexibly and goal-oriented to develop high-quality, customized molecules for our internal and external customers, while also not forgetting to enjoy our work.

Your key responsibilities
- In close collaboration with test development, biological reagent development, quality control, production, and quality management, you and your team develop chemical substances for use in diagnostics.
- Drawing on your broad range of knowledge and expertise, you design reagents on a molecular level and take care about their creation using chemical-synthetic methods.
- In particular, methods from bioorthogonal chemistry as well as nucleotide or nucleic acid chemistry are employed.
- Additionally, you optimize the functional suitability of the molecules and oversee the design transfer to operations, adhering to design guidelines.
- One of your most important tasks is to continuously develop your own expertise as well as that of your team members. To this end, you maintain contacts with internal and external experts.

Your Profile
- You hold a university degree with a Ph.D. in Chemistry.
- You have expertise in preparative chemical work and have specialized in the field of organic chemical synthesis of biomolecules and their conjugates, particularly in the area of bioorthogonal chemistry of nucleotide or nucleic acid derivatives.
- You have experience designing and producing high-quality substances, bringing the necessary creativity and diligence to the task.
- You are distinguished by a high degree of social competence, ideally have gathered leadership experience, and can communicate precisely and efficiently in German and/or English (C1 level).
- You have experience in unlocking the potential of your employees through coaching, in the design of agile development projects, and possess the ability to work in a challenging, dynamic, and constantly changing environment.
