About the role

• Assessing licensor art and completing market/consumer research
• Watch content to best understand the visuals and narrative
• Brainstorm packaging design ideas using hand sketches or design software
• Partner with the Production team to complete projects promptly
• Ensure packaging designs represent the anime and will be received well by fans
• Work with the Product Development team and Operations team to identify suitable and cost-effective materials and finishes for the product and packaging
• Handle creative revisions from multiple partners including the SCD, Product Development, Brand, and the licensor(s).
• Review and critique creative work for your direct reports
• Be a liaison between your team and the Creative Leads.
• Ensure your team is meeting the standard of excellence and best practices set by the Sr Director of Creative

In the role of Art Director, you will report to the Senior Director of Creative, Home Entertainment.

About You

• 5-10 years of proven packaging design experience
• 2-3 years of management experience
• Experience leading multiple creatives at a time
• Comfortable partnering with a team of Creative Leads to meet our goals and to improve the larger creative team
• Natural talent for design and a keen eye for detail
• Experience with market and consumer research
• Familiarity with packaging files, materials, and prepress processes
• Experience developing projects from concept through execution.
• Great with time management and juggling multiple projects.
• Expert in Adobe Creative Suite
• Excellent English skills
• Experience with entertainment licensors.
• Passion for anime is a huge plus.
• Bachelor's degree or Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree required

About the Team

The Home Entertainment Creative Team empowers fans to manage their anime through premium home video collections. We design and market collectibles on a global scale in close collaboration with Product Development, Sales, and Global Operations to elevate the Global Home Entertainment business. The team is composed of professionals in Production, Copywriting, and Design, with members based in North America, Australia/New Zealand, UK, France, and Germany. Our initiatives position us as consistent frontrunners in the industry, constantly pushing the envelope in our creative pursuits.
