The Faculty of Translation Studies, Lingustics, and Cultural Stuides of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz searches for a research assistant (fixt term for 3 years) at the department of Intercultural German Studies, in qualification position with the objective of graduating with a PhD.

We are looking for someone who is mainly interested in theoreticaly bases intercultural German literatur and cultural studies, preferably with an intermedial or literary-historical focus.

Your tasks:

The position serves the qualification in the first qualification phase; tasks are assigned that are conducive to the preparation of a doctorate;
developing and accomplishing of an individual dissertation projekt within the disciplinary and conceptual framework of Intercultural German Studies;
independent research and presenting research results within scientific colloquia, workshops and (international) conferences
organisational tasks (co-organization of e.g. workshos and research proposals)
academic teaching (2 SWS)

Your profile:

In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate.

a successfully completed scientific university degree (Master's degree, state examination or equivalent; completed by April 2024)
willingness and ability to participate actively and self-responsible in the interdisciplinary research and teaching program of the faculty
desirable: multilingual and/or translational skills

The position is paid according to EG 13 TV-L and to be filled 01.05.2024. The position is temporary limited to a period of 3 years.

The position serves the purpose of academic qualification (doctorate).
